2. NAS Fallon – With the reality of the Navy Modernization, we must continue our efforts to preserve and protect access to public lands. The county’s efforts to provide this protection is we need is within the Churchill County Lands Bill. This bill will (1) protects lands in the Stillwaters, Dixie Valley, and the Clan Alpine Mountains for public access for geothermal, mining and grazing, (2) Set aside public lands for parks and refuge areas, (3) allocate checkboard lands along the railroad and I-80 for industrial use and public access.
I PLEDGE to keep focused on NAS Fallon as one of our most significant and valuable resources for economic growth and sustainability. I will work closely with NAS Fallon personnel to maintain a positive relationship and to convey to others our cooperative partnership.
