10. CC Communications – CC Communications is an invaluable resource for Churchill County. First formed as Churchill County Telephone & Telegraph, CC Communications has evolved over the past century into a state of the art telecommunications company. It has also survived to become a “lean and mean” operation. This has great significance when one realizes the serious cuts made to the Universal Service Fund. Federal appropriations for CC Communications may be gravely reduced, forcing the company into additional “lean and mean” measures. Commissioners must work closely with the management of CC Communications to protect Churchill County’s right to own its small telecommunications company and to advocate for its existence whenever the opportunity arises.
I PLEDGE to be an advocate for CC Communications. I acknowledge the benefits to Churchill County and its residents for CC Communications to thrive in the telecommunications arena and will work with its management to secure a profitable and successful future.
