11. Future Growth of Churchill County – The future of Churchill County is very bright! I believe that, because of our strategic location in the state and the quality of life we provide, many will seek to live, work and raise families here. Within the next 10 years our county leaders must apply great care and patience when dealing with growth in our county. It would be easy to allow uncontrolled growth in order to balance past years of little to no growth, and it would be a temptation for leaders to bring in any industry at any cost simply because it promised jobs.
I PLEDGE to promote moderate and controlled growth which can be sustained through adherence to consistent strategic planning that clearly focuses on the quality of life for, first, existing residents, and, second, future residents. I am a pro-growth advocate as long as that growth follows a master plan that is consistently updated and provides for the infrastructure needed for sustained, moderate growth.
